      Using a custom domain name on a Merchr hosted store package

      You will need to update your DNS settings and let us know so that we can make some updates on our end.

      If you set up your merch store using a Merchr hosted store package (where we provide your fully ready-to-go merch website for you), your site will start off using a merchr.com subdomain, e.g. mystore.merchr.com.

      However you may wish to use your own custom domain name instead, so in this article we will explain how you can switch your website from your Merchr subdomain to your custom domain.

      To add the domain:

      1. Log in to your hosting provider.
      2. Locate your domain's DNS settings
      3. Update the following DNS records:

        DNS Entry Type New Target/Destination
        @ (or this may be blank) A 198.244.178.101
        www A 198.244.178.101

        * (for some domain providers)

        		 A 198.244.178.101
      4. Let us know by emailing support@merchr.com when this is complete for us to make the changes on our end.

      If someone else manages your domain for you or you aren't sure what to do, just send a copy of this message below to your hosting provider:

      To whom it may concern {name of domain host (e.g., 123 Reg)},

      My name is {your name}, and I own the following domain: {your domain URL (e.g., www.merchr.com)}. I've set up a store with Merchr and want to point my domain to their servers. Please update the DNS 'A' records in my account for '@' , '*' and 'www.' to 198.244.178.101.
