What format and size do my logo or artwork have to be?

Follow the guidelines below to avoid the fuss of uploading your designs or logo and applying it to a product only for it to appear blurry.

First of all, please make sure your design complies with Merchr’s copyright policy.

Print-on-demand works best with files that are formatted as 'vectors' to store image and graphic data. Vector file formats come from programs like Adobe Illustrator. The file formats that are preferred are:

  • .svg - a vector file format that stores image data as mathematical formulas

  • .ai - Adobe Illustrator artwork file

These are lossless file formats meaning they can be scaled up without losing quality.

You can also upload:
  • .png - lossless data compression format that supports transparency
  • .jpeg - lossy compression format that does not support transparency

If you use PNG or JPEG file formats, just ensure the image has a large enough resolution (in pixels) to translate to a high-quality print - such as a minimum dimensions of 3000 pixels and 300 DPI (dots per inch.)

Artwork which is low resolution will be printed blurry. It is your responsibility to upload suitable artwork, however we may contact you if we think artwork is unsuitable for print.

If your logo or designs are not saved in one of these formats, you will not be able to upload your design to Merchr. Therefore please convert your artwork to one of the supported formats listed above to upload your artwork.

Please also note that that printed colours may not be an exact match to the preview shown in the designer tool due to the way computer screens vary in colour display.
